    Starter vaccine schedules

Add a pet and get its core vaccines planned from published guidelines, with the puppy or kitten series by age.

Free and ProSince Pet Health+ 3.5.0

Right after you add a dog or a cat, Pet Health+ offers the core vaccines that the guidelines in your country recommend, with dates worked out from the pet's age. You review the list and tap Apply.

    Steps

    1. Add the pet with its type and date of birth. The Starter schedule sheet opens: "Apply the typical schedule for Dog?"

    2. Review the reminders. Under Proposed reminders, each vaccine shows its date and why it's due. Source opens the guideline it comes from.

    3. Tap Apply. The vaccines are added to Records with reminders. Or tap Not now and apply it later from Today → Get started → Apply starter schedule.

    4. Follow the series. A young pet's vaccines given as a series show Dose 1 of 3, Dose 2 of 3 and so on, timed by age (8, 12 and 16 weeks for most puppy shots). Until the first dose is logged, a record says Not given yet. Log each dose with Log Booster, and the record moves to the next one.

    5. Change your mind. On Profile, the Starter schedule applied card shows how many reminders it added and the guideline. Undo template moves them to Recently Deleted, where they stay for 30 days.

    Countries and sources

The schedule follows your iPhone's region: United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, France or Ukraine. Other regions get the US schedule. The sources include the AAHA 2022 canine and AAFP 2020 feline guidelines, CVMA, BSAVA and WSAVA, and StIKo Vet. Each country's schedule is on our website: dog vaccine schedule and cat vaccine schedule.

    Combination shots

Where vets give distemper, adenovirus and parvovirus as one shot, they're one DHPP record; for cats, panleukopenia, rhinotracheitis and calicivirus are one FVRCP record. Where the guidelines time them differently, as in Germany for dogs and in Europe for cats, they stay separate.

    Vaccine suggestions

When you add a vaccination by hand, the Suggested strip at the top of the form offers the vaccines that fit your pet's type and age. Tap one to fill in the form.

Starter schedules are free. The Suggested strip in the Add Vaccination form is part of Pro.

    Good to know

    • Every date is a suggestion: change any of them before it arrives, or delete what your vet doesn't give.
    • Already had a dose at the shelter or breeder? Open the record, tap Edit, then Already given? Log it, or scan the certificate (see Scan a Record).
    • Starter schedules are a starting point from published guidelines, not veterinary advice. Ask your vet what's right for your pet.
